Say you’re looking for a countertop, you’re faced with these options: Corian vs Quartz vs Granite. Confusing, isn’t it? We’re going to differentiate these on the following criteria: Visual, Durability and Pricing
Visual
Corian and Quartz are man-made compositions offering clean, consistent and seamless surfaces. Grantie, on the other hand, is a natural rock. So if you’re looking for a natural and imperfect surface, Granite is for you. Each has a buyer who swears by the product.
Durability
It’s not a debate. Quartz wins. Corian comes in second. Granite comes in last.
Corian is prone to scratches but can be easily repaired (buffed). Quartz is a strong material and is virtually scratch-free. Granite is tougher to repair and scratches will develop over time. Corian and Quartz are both impervious and stain-free. Granite, on the other hand is porous and absorbs liquids, leading to stains.
Pricing
It’s debatable. In general though, Corian is the least expensive, followed by Granite and then Quartz.
